In addition tohoaxissues, Effendi said the biggest problem faced by Indonesia today is economic inequality.Data released by the agencies say, the wealth of the four richest people in Indonesia is equivalent to the wealth of a hundred million poor people.
He said the economic imbalance is not only a result of the current economy but also the legacy of past governments.
Faced with such conditions, Effendi wants all citizens to fight against economic injustice so welfare equality will be achieved soon.
“Generally Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution want prosperity for all Indonesian people, our economic revival against economic injustice, to make it really as even as possible, “he added.
The third issue that Effendi disclosed is about 20 percent presidential election threshold.
“The academic community still has a duty to resolve thepresidential threshold(presidential election threshold) 20 percent.No country in the world has apresidential thresholdif the elections are conducted simultaneously.We still have to struggle for the constitution.Votes in previous elections should not be used haphazardly in the current elections and five years later, ” he said.
Responding to the many problems of Indonesia, the initiator of Republik Mimpi hoped that the activists consistently voiced their criticisms to the government.
“We are too fierce as activists in the era of SBY.To all rectors, deans, researchers, and students, let’s voice our criticism intelligently.There can be no democratic government that closes itself from criticism.Let us convey an intelligent criticisms and in line with the foundations of the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila, “said Effendi.
