UNAIR NEWS– Welcoming the month of independence, Community Service Division of University Bidik Misi Organization(AUBMO) held a new social program called SAPA.Zulfi Dyah, Minister of Community Service AUBMO 2018, explained that SAPA is the short form of Social Action with Pengmas AUBMO.The focus of activities is in the form of social services to people in need.
“As planned, SAPA will become a routine and sustainable agenda for AUBMO Community Service every month considering the Community Service Division has always been synonymous with a large-scale work program.For example, Community Service Camp, Bidik Misi Berkurban, Bidik Misi Mengaji, and Bidik Misi Goes to School, ” she explained.
The agenda cannot be separated from suggestions and input from several UNAIR Bidik Misi alumni.They hoped that Community Service AUBMO will not only focus on large projects, but also pay attention to the small agenda that can be continuously carried out for the surrounding community.Retno Cahyaningtyas, a former member of 2017 AUBMO Community Service, who accompanied SAPA’s activities explained that SAPA received financial assistance from several parties.
“We want to start pioneering a small program, but it is sustainable every month.Alhamdulillah, there is a donation from the alumni, and we also create synergy with Alms Broker Foundation, ” she said.
Finally, after finalizing all preparations, starting this August, Community Service has determined to realize SAPA.The target of SAPA is the poor.Suko Manunggal became the chosen location because based on a survey a few weeks before, there were several people who qualified to receive aid.The assistance provided is in the form of a basic food package.Next, SAPA will return to a different place and target, to even out the distribution of aid.
“There are three people per month.Maybe the problem is the difficulty to determine the target because, we must maintain the trust from the donors to channel funds to people who really need it, ” she added.
Although it is not included as AUBMO programs, SAPA will receive donations from alumni every month.So, the agenda can continue until the next stewardship period.(*)
