UNAIR NEWS –As a competition, National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) also has its own festivities.As the host, Yogyakarta State University (UNY) welcomed thousands of guests from various parts of Indonesia with various lively sessions.The following are some of the liveliness and excitement in the opening:
- Special Welcoming Dinner of Yogyakarta
As one of the best universities in Indonesia in the middle of Yogyakarta, UNY certainly cannot be separated from its of Javanese culture.Therefore, when welcoming contingents from various regions in Indonesia, Yogyakarta specialties are served.There were also entertaining performances.
- Sri Paduka Paku Alam X Attends the Opening Ceremony
One very special thing about PIMNAS 31 in UNY is the presence of Sri Paduka Paku Alam X who is also the Deputy Governor of Special Province Yogyakarta.In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Sri Paduka Paku Alam X who also represented His Excellency Sultan Hamengku Buwono X said that the existence of PIMNAS would spur the creativity and innovation of students.It will also encourage the progress and competitiveness of the nation.
- The opening of PIMNAS with Diversity Theme
In addition to the presence of Sri Paduka Paku Alam X at the opening ceremony, the nuances of diversity were deliberately presented at the ceremony held at the UNY Sports Building.It is seen from contingent parade in their own traditional attire.
Furthermore, according to Rector of UNY Prof.Dr.Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd., as the host, the diversity theme of 31st PIMNAS in UNY is in the main theme of “Superior, Creative, and Innovative Students in the Frame of Diversity”.
- Most Participants in the History of PIMNAS
The 31st PIMNAS at UNY is PIMNAS with the most participants.The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristek Dikti) M. Nasir who was also present at the opening ceremony of 31st PIMNAS on Thursday, August 30 said thatthere were 136 contingents from various universities throughout Indonesia competing in the prestigious grand event.
There were also various activities such as PIMNAS side competition, PIMNAS food and souvenir bazaar, and of course the closing ceremony that will take place on Saturday, September 1.
