UNAIR NEWS –Local Committee (Panlok) 50 Surabaya officially opened the registration of State University Joint Entrance Test (SBMPTN) in 2018. It was marked by a press conference at the secretariat of Panlok 50 Surabaya which was held at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Campus C 51动漫 on Thursday, April 5.
Panlok 50 consists of 51动漫, Sepuluh November Technology Institute, Surabaya State University, Sunan Ampel State Islamic University, Trunojoyo University Madura, and Veteran Development University of East Java.In front of the media, UNAIR Rector Prof.Moh.Nasih representing several rectors attending, said that this year SBMPTN was conducted with Printed Based Written Exam (UTBC) and Computer Based Written Exam (UTBK).
“For UTBC SBMPTN, participants can start registration starting today,” said Prof.Nasih.
Meanwhile, UTBK SBMPTN will open on 18 April.Regarding the difference of registration schedule, Prof.Nasih revealed that it was aimed to provide opportunity for participants who are still waiting for the SNMPTN announcement.
“We want to be fair because the SNMPTN announcement will be out on 17 April, “he said.
Therefore, the Professor of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) hoped that prospective students from 2016 and 2017 can maximize the registration period of UTBC open from April 5 to April 27, 2018. He added that it was to anticipate the increase of applicants at the end- end of registration time.
“Although the period of registration is long, I the prospective students from class 2016 and 2017 can register from now on so the committee can predict the number of participants who will take tests at Panlok 50 Surabaya, “added Prof.Nasih.
At the end, Prof.Nasih provided some information related to the number of participants who will take the selection test in the area of Panlok 50 Surabaya.Participants from both UTBC and UTBK who followed the selection in the area Panlok 50 are estimated around 30 thousand participants.
“And, as usual, participants who choose social and humanities will be placed in UNESA campus, ITS for the Mixed category, and itself will be used for Science and Technology participants,” he concluded.
