UNAIR NEWS To handle fertility problem of a couple, a semen analyst plays a great role, therefore that role is important and vital in andrology. Andrology is the field of infertility, either sexual dysfunction, male contraception, and for the infertility itself.
淭herefore, National Training of The Trainer On Semen Analysis is held for these Indonesian andrologists who are about 70 people, said Dr. Aucky Hinting, Sp.And., Ph.D.,to UNAIR NEWS during the training in GRAMIK Hall in FK. It was opened by Dean of Prof. Dr. Soetojo, dr., SpU(K), on Saturday, May 13. It was organized by Persandi (Indonesian Andrologist Association).
From semen analysis, an individual can be determined to be fertile or infertile. The vital impact from the analysis is not only for the doctors so they can handle patients and know the cause of the problems but also for the patients. If the semen is empty, said dr. Aucky, they will never be able to have children. The experts through researches have determined the normal state of semen.
In Indonesia, the standard of normal semen has been determined. If there are more than 20 million of seeds, then the individual is normal. If there is lower amount, it is not normal. Beside the quantity of the seed, the zygote movement is also observed.
淪o our andrologists are being refreshed and trained to semen analysis interpretation, and they will teach it to their analysist, said Dr. Aucky Hinting, who is also a sculptor.
World Health Organization has founded a standard of fertility, so we must make some adjustment such as the technique, they used to only see the zygote movement but now they also observe the 榟at and the 榯ail. There is an improved standard from WHO.
All this time, the problems are from the accuracy of the examination facility. But andrologists with their knowledge can handle the problems. They have the technology and standards so the analysts can learn from them.
滱fter this, andrologists will train their analysts. So it is a training for trainers which will work in the labs on infertility such as injection is not always given by doctors, after doctors decide the treatment, the nurses can perform the injection. Semen analysis is the same, not always the same, he said.
In his speech, Dean of FK UNAIR Prof. Soetojo expressed his gratitude for the organization of this event. It showed their concern on patient service improvement. It is also a good way to learn as patient nowadays are smarter with the open information era from the internet and social media.
