UNAIR NEWS揊ransiska Berliani, a student of English Literature at Faculty of Humanities, 51动漫, was awarded best paper at an international conference hosted by IAIN Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan. The conference was held in conjunction with the inauguration of the Triple Tower building at IAIN Palangka Raya, entitled International Islamic Research Forum 2017.
Siska her nickname – earned a best paper for her paper entitled “Perspective Analysis of Muslim Women Clients of Islamic Dating Agency: A Case Study of Islamic Dating Agency Etty Sunanty in Surabaya”. There are 310 papers submitted. 280 of them were selected to attend the presentation in parallel.
Although it was her very first time, Siska were proud. Because, participants were not only undergraduate (S-1) students, like herself, but also there were lecturers, teachers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and event master and doctoral student. They came from three countries, includes, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam.

There were two categories of awards in the conference, the best paper and the youngest presenter. Siska admitted grateful to get one of the award. In fact, he only had little preparation. H-1 presentation, she is still doing college assignments and translation.
In her presentation, this Malang-born girl, explained about Muslim women who decided to look for her soul mate through Islamic dating agency. She used drive theory and incentive theory to analysis the phenomenon.

In her conclusion, she reflected the analysis result and made suggestion list about how to keep the existence of dating agency in today era.
In order to be happy of her achievement, Siska admitted that there were many other experiences while was joining conference in Palangka Raya, the city where she visited to for first time.
“Materialistically, of course I got the best paper award that is very useful for my campus life. However, non-materialistically, I get so much more, the opportunity to stay in Palangka Raya for a few days and talk with friendly people there, ” she explained.
Meanwhile, she also admitted that she acquired priceless experience, is new friends. In the full-day conference, she acquired many friends, includes students, lecturers, even dean and rector of IAON Palangka Raya.
The interesting part was she acquired the opportunity to follow the city t. In city tour, Siska visited the Kahayan River, Kampung Lauk, and a breeding ground for orangutans.
The Students who was born on 26 December has experienced many activities outside college hours. Siska who joined the Airlangga Model United Nations (AIRMUN) Club has been to Canada with three other AIRMUN members in March 2017. Siska also won third place at the International Dispute Negotiation Competition organized by International Law Students Association (ILSA) Chapter UNAIR in 2016.
