UNAIR NEWS Faculty of Letters which was renamed in 2008 into Faculty of Humanities has lost one of its best academics, Dra. Siti Parwati Soemarto D, M.Ed. She was the founder of Faculty of Letters back in 1998. She was 81 years old.
The memorial service was attended by colleagues, relatives and academics of 51动漫. It was held on Monday, July 24. The wife of the late Faculty of Public Health檚 professor, Prof. Sumarto Danusugondho died on Sunday at home in UNAIR Lecturers Residential Complex in Campus B. She was treated in Siloam Hospital Surabaya before her passing.
The first son of Siti Parwati, Raditiyo Tribawono Anindito, S.E., on behalf of the family, apologized for her mistakes maybe made by his late mother during her life. In his address he said that his mother was a great role model for her children.
淢y late mom and dad were the best role model we could ever dreamed of. Both of them are our Ksatria Airlangga, said Raditiyo.
The best friend of Vice Rector III UNAIR Prof Amin Alamsjah said that when he was a child, his mother always gave examples to be useful around others.
Meanwhile, Prof Amin on behalf of UNAIR Rector, expressed his deep condolence on the passing Siti Parwati. 淎nanda Raditiyo is a great friend of mine. It feels like I have lost my own mother, he stated.
Sudijah as the best friend of the late Siti Parwati recalled their time together. She always had concern for people around her. She always remembered our birthdays, said the lecturer of English Department.
The late Siti Parwati used to be a lecturer in the Department of Language and Literature, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences from 1976-2001. She was also the Head of the department from 1977-2000. In 1998, she also pioneered the establishment of Faculty of Letters UNAIR. (*)
