UNAIR NEWS – Thegovernment is disseminating Law no.7 of 2016 on Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish Cultivators, and Salt Farmers.
The dissemination of the law issued in 2017 was held in room 502, Building C, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine 51动漫 (FPK UNAIR), Friday, July 21.
Dean of FPK UNAIR Prof.Dr.Mirni Lamid, drh., MP., said that her institution will contribute to the progress of Indonesian fisheries and marine.One of them is by producing quality graduates.
“FPK UNAIR has two undergraduate programs, Aquaculture and Fishery Products Industrial Technology.We as academics will contribute to the advancement of Indonesia fisheries and marine, “said Mirni in presence of the head of agency and representatives of fisheries business from all fishery towns and districts in East Java.
Member of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives Drs.Ibnu Multazam said the birth of the law was motivated by the absence of regulations that regulate the protection and empowerment of fishery and marine practitioners.
“Indonesia does not yet have a regulating law aimed at protecting and empowering its people.In essence, this law has two clusters, protection and empowerment, “said Ibnu.
Expert staff of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in social, economic and cultural fields.Ir.Achmad Poernomo, M.App.Sc who also attended the dissemination said that this law covers the protection and empowerment of fishery and marine practitioners.
“Since its establishment, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries has issued three laws and this is the fourth law.The difference is that this law covers more specifically to its people as fishermen, fish cultivators and salt farmers, “said Poernomo.
