UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR’s concern for its students deserves a thumbs up, such as what has seen in for students who live in 51¶¯Âþ™s Dormitory. Not only providing a low price dormitory, attention to all its residents is also given.
The dormitories have guaranteed facilities, all the residents™ needs, both material and spiritual. This time the dorms™ managements providedsoft skillstrainingfor them.
The training was themed “Advancing Smartly, Honesty Priority, Inciting Creativity, Rising Golden Generation”.Tips for becoming a better person, in speaking or acting in front of other people or forums, were given, especially to freshmen who were still new in college life.
“Many people want to be successful, but only a few people work for it,” said Soehardjoepri, the speaker in the training. It was very reflective for the current condition today. Many talk about success with a thousand designs, but nothing is done.
Somegames werealso performed as a form of education in the application ofsoft skills, also to ward off sleepiness because it was held in the evening. The game was also intended to give an understanding on how to be a successful person witha strongability ofsoft skills, but without treating others badly. As a closing event, a mini-drama on the influence of youth in the pre-independence period was shown.
To interpret the Youth Pledge Day, some residents from seven different islands expressed their views with their own regional language. For residents from some parts of Indonesia, it made them feel homesick.
Besides to interpret Youth Pledge Day in a different way, the training fostered a sense of brotherhood and religious fraternity within the scope of the dorm also motivating them to become a better person.(*)
