UNAIR NEWS 51动漫 (UNAIR) held its 118th inauguration for Specialist I and Specialist II program on Wednesday morning, September 21. There were 66 graduates with 58 specialist I and 8 specialist II.
The event was held in Faculty of Medicine (FK) Hall and attended by Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin, Dean of FK Prof. Dr. Soetojo, dr., Sp.U (K), UNAIR Hospital Director Prof. Dr. Nasronudin, dr., Sp.PD-KPTI, and representatives of RSUD Dr. Soetomo dr. Tri Wahyu Martanto.
The specialist program graduates from 2002 to September 2016 reached 2,760 people. In the composition, this year檚 specialist graduates from Obstetrics and Gynecology program and Cardiology and Vascular Medicine were seven people each and both were programs with most graduates this time.
In the occasion, Prof. Soetojo encouraged the specialists to dedicate their work sincerely as there are still a lot of remote regions which still need medical staff.
淚n Papua, four puskesmas only has one doctor. So there are still a lot of regions in need of doctors, he said. 淒on檛 gather in big cities only, added Prof. Soetojo.
Added the dean statements, Vice Rector II reminded the graduates to always feel grateful and work trustworthy as there are many people who want to study in the program but denied.
淧rove to them that you all are UNAIR medicine graduates with quality performance, it is also a preparation to face MEA, he said.
Increasing Graduates
Regarding the inauguration, for the first time Specialist I and II inauguration was held together. Head of Education Coordinating Committee Dr. Tarmono, dr., Sp.U(K) said that specialist II graduates is increasing from time to time.
淐urrently, many programs have opened specialist II program, hence more graduates. It used to be fewer, and they were inaugurated separately. Now specialist II program is managed by the university, so it檚 managed better, he said.
Dokter Tarmono was sure that Specialist II graduates will keep increasing as more programs will opened specialist II program. 淚n the future, if possible, the inauguration will be held together (with specialist I). If there are even more graduates, separated inauguration can be held for Specialist II, he said. (*)
