UNAIR NEWS– Pro-Vice Chancellor International La Trobe University, Australia, Kelly Smith visited Rector of Prof.Dr.Muhammad Nasih, SE, M.T, Ak., CMA., on Wednesday afternoon, July 4.Accompanied by Academic Partnerships Coordinator of International Course Coordination and Development, School of Nursing and MidwiferySonia Reisenhofer, RN., BN., MN., (Emergency)., PhD., Kelly discussed about international collaborative programs with UNAIR, especially with the Faculty of Nursing (FKp).And, possibly with other faculties.
Dean of FKp Prof.Dr.Nursalam, M. Nurs (Hons), who attended the meeting said that the visit was a follow-up for a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) in 2016.
“We have conducted the partnership.There is astudentexchange, both our students and lecturers go there, and vice versa.Then,visiting professor from UNAIR and La Trobe University.And there isresearch, “he toldUNAIR NEWS听.
Prof.Nursalam added that the meeting was also a follow up of previous FKP team visit.The partnership is important as FKp effort to support UNAIR to meet the target of Top 500World Class University(WCU).Keep in mind, La Trobe University, Australia, is included as Top Hundred Nursing in The World, the top 100 rated nursing program in the world.
“In April when the anniversary of the faculty celebrated, UNAIR FKp is holdinginternational conference.There will be speakers from La Trobe University, ” he said.
In the meeting, the improvement of collaborative activities were discussed, said Prof.Nursalam, such as in academic and research fields as well as international accreditation.For the academic field, there is a plan to open PhD program for UNAIR academics from La Trobe University.More UNAIR PhD graduates from there are expected.
“In addition, the university (La Trobe University, ed) also receives students throughLPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education), especially for nursing.Why?Because its nursing school is in the top one hundred of world rankings, “he said.
In the field of research, plans to organize collaborative research groups were discussed.Mainly intended to improve health publications and research related to health problems in each country.
Prof.Nursalam stated that there is some interests on health community in Indonesia.In Australia, there is no health-care community similar to puskesmas as in Indonesia.In addition, it is associated with preventive efforts against complex and challenging Indonesian communities.
“In addition to La Trobe University Australia, FKp has collaborated with more than five countries.There are Red Cross of Kyushu, Japan;University of Malaya, Malaysia;National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan;Naresuan University, Thailand;and University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, “he said.
