UNAIR NEWS Students from various traditional Islamic schools in Sidoarjo were very enthusiastic listening to public relation and protocol lecture delivered by speakers from 51动漫. Many of them asked to know more about the two inter-related jobs.
One of the students, Faisal, raised a question in the Public Relation and Protocol Training held on Sunday (19/2), at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ikhlas, Sidoarjo. 淚s a protocol officer similar to an event organizer? he asked.
Aditya Gita Rahmatullah, S.Pi., a protocol staff at Information Center and Public Relation UNAIR answered that the two jobs are similar, which is managing an event檚 procession. 淭he difference is, there are some rules to follow in protocol when we plan an event. So, in arranging seats, for example, there is a manual to follow, said Aditya, a PIH staff who was responsible for protocol subject.
Another question came from Nurahman. He asked about the relationship between the roles of a protocol and a public relation. Answering the question, Aditya answered based on duties and public relation at UNAIR. At UNAIR, protocol is part of public relation whose duty is to guarantee the success of an event, meaning the event runs smoothly without incidents. A smoothly-run event is part of a university檚 good reputation.
In addition to Aditya, Hedy Dyah Syahputri, S.I.Kom. lectured about customer service in the world of public relation. 淲hat is public relation? asked Hedy to the participants.
The participants answered in competition. There were various answers. For them, public relation was a female檚 job and pretty face. Everybody laughed abruptly.
淎 public relation doesn檛 have to be female and pretty. You can see many males work as a public relation. For example chairman of PIH UNAIR Suko Widodo, explained Hedy.
淭he important thing is the person must be tactful in analyzing situations which have happened, are happening, and will probably happen which will affect the company or institution. A public relation has to be able to build a harmonious relationship with his or her stakeholders, internally and externally because a public relation檚 job is to build trustworthiness and maintain the company檚 reputation, added the graduate of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNAIR.
The public relation training is part of UNAIR檚 Institute of Community Service, Education, Training and Development (LP4M) agenda. The visit was LP4M routine program. The training was joined by 75 students from various Islamic traditional schools. Before entering the main topic, Chairman of Institute of Community Service, Education, Training and Development Prof. Dr. Jusuf Irianto, M.Com. explained about the definition of public relation.
