Targeted 162 Scopus Indexed Journals, FK UNAIR Reinforces Reworking

UNAIR NEWS– Faculty of Medicine 51¶¯Âþ continues to develop acceleration strategies to achieve the target of journal publications at international level.One form of the strategies currently disseminated intensively among lecturers and students is reinforcing reworking.

As stated by the Vice Dean III FK.Dr.Ni Made Mertaniasih, dr., MS., Sp.MK (K), reworking is aform of activity to change the text of research results in the form of thesis, master thesis, dissertation and lecturers™ research reports into the form of journal articles in general.

“The target of FK UNAIR in 2017 is 162 scopus indexed journals, if possible we achieve more.To achieve that, we perform the acceleration by reinforcing the reworking activity, “she said after during a workshop on International Journal Publishing Guidance, Grhamik FK UNAIR, May 17.

The workshop, attended by dozens of lecturers from 29 departments within FK UNAIR, is scheduled to continue to the stage of articles submission to be submitted to international journals.

Research criteria eligible for reworking is based on each medical science.A supervising lecturer or head of the program and department is authorized to select the research that is deemed to meet the criteria to be submitted at international level.

Some universities in Indonesia have already applied this reworkingactivitiesin every journal publication.While FK UNAIR more often uses repository.

“It does not mean we (UNAIR) are too late to implement this.I am personally sure that lecturers infaculties have appliedreworkingwhen guiding undergraduate and postgraduate students.What we are doing now is to reinforcing the reworking activities simultaneously and systematically in all faculties at UNAIR, ” she said.

Made also said, this reworking activity actually brings many advantages.Besides benefits for the authors, it will also give good impacts for the educational institutions.According to her, by changing research into a journal, the author will be motivated to maintain the development of science.Because when the author really wants to develop their research into a journal, the authors will automatically make improvements and improve the results of their work.

“When the research is still an obligation for graduation,lecturers tend to focus more on pursuing graduation targets only so often the quality of research is not the best.But when developed into a journal, then the responsibility to develop the science is bigger, “she said.

In addition to the form of research journals, other forms of international publications can be in the form ofreview articles, case reports, systematic reviews, and opinionspublished in the media.

Made encouraged the lecturers to start writing opinions in accordance with their respective fields of science.Other forms of publication can also be in the form of reviewing several articles, then conceptualized based on the results of reviews obtained from several sources of journals, as well as history textbooks.

The plan, the workshop event will still be continued until the stage of facilitation research submission to international journals.So, when the manuscript is still in Indonesian, it must be translated to English, then the sentences are perfected.Furthermore, adjustment of theguidelines for author is done.After that, the data completeness stage for the affiliation process follows.
