Three FKp Dean Messages to 118 Nurses for August 2018 Period

UNAIR NEWS– Dean of Faculty of Nursing (FKp) , Prof., Dr., Nursalam M.Nurs (Hons) gave three important messages to 118 nurses inaugurated on Tuesday, August 28.The inauguration was held at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), in presence of UNAIR leaders and relevant institutions and parents.

Prof., Dr., Nursalam emphasized three important things to the nurses, especially to face the professional world.Prof.Dr.Nursalam said three words started with S, N, and S.

“I advise all nurses appointed today three important things.SNS.Not sms, but SNS, ” he said while giving a speech.

To win the competition, Prof.Dr.Nursalam, the first thing to do is S,self reformation.The nurses, including all active students, must reform themselves, willing to review or see and improve themselves.

“The competency is poor, so they have to learn.Those who lack in English, must improve their English, ” he said.

“Including intellectual aspects, interpersonal aspects, and technical aspects must be studied,” he added.

Prof.Nursalam added that employment over time requires specialization.In an era of rapid technological development like today, he continued, there might be technology-based health services.

“There are three in the service such as ICU and emergency department, “he said.

For inpatient and outpatient care, according to Prof.Nursalam, people will tend to stay at home.Therefore, there will be a Go Care service.So, if there are complaints or illness, health services will come.

“So, it is likely that in the future there will be such system.So, don’t get stuck in the PNS box.Create jobs if possible, “he said.

The second message is N, networking. Prof.Nursalam said that the nurses must be able to build a good network with anyone, especially between nurses themselves.Also with partners, alumni, and colleagues abroad.

“So, it is very important to build networks.All that is needed is a build partnerships, ” he said.

The last message isspirit, fightingspirit.That is, having an adaptive spirit and an unyielding spirit of fighting.Prof.Nursalam reminded that the need for health workers continues to increase.

However, what matters is not just the opportunities.The readiness of nurses to navigate in competitive world is also of equal importance.The nurses are expected to see vast access to information to take part in the international world.

Meanwhile, on behalf of UNAIR Rector, Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D., Apt., reminded the nurses to uphold UNAIR’s motto,Excellence with Morality.It must be in their every step after their campus life.Students, including alumni, still have to prioritize excellence accompanied with moral values.

“The oath is expected not only to be a mere ceremonial words.But, really from the heart.Congratulations to the nurses.Congratulations and serve the nation well, “he said.

The inauguration was also attended by a number of universities™ leaders around UNAIR such as the leadership of UNUSA, UMS (Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya), and STIKES Hang tuah including from the Navy Hospital (RSAL) Dr. Ramelan and several related institutions.

There were also Chairman of the Central Executive Board Harif Fadhillah, S.Kp., S.H, M.Kep., MH, who also gave a speech and Prof. Djoko Dewantoro, Drs., M.Si., Ak, Deputy Director of Finance and Human Resources of 51¶¯Âþ Hospital (RSUA).(*)
