UNAIR NEWS – Professor emiritus of IKM -KP FK UNAIR Prof. Dr. Arsiniati M.Brata Arbai, DA., Nutr., passed away at the age of 82 years on Monday, April 23 at 13.00.Two hours later, there was a memorial service in the Hall of FK UNAIR. Then, the body was buried in Malang.
Not only the family, the news of the death of Prof. Arsiniati also brings grief for fellow doctors of FK UNAIR.Such as Prof.Dr. dr Sri Kardjati MSc, a colleague close to Prof.Arsiniati.
“I last met her last January before she underwent surgery at Grha Amerta Dr. RSUD.Soetomo.As soon as I heard it, I wait until the operation is complete, ” she said.
Their closeness was established since 1985, when both were in charge of nutrition science in FK UNAIR.
So far, Prof Arsiniati has hardly ever shown complaint about his health condition.In fact, when Prof Sri visited him, Prof. Arsiniati advised her not to tell others about her condition.
During his lifetime, Prof Arsiniati is actively involved in research and community service activities.In fact, she was more popularly known as professor ‘tempe’.Because for her dissertation, the mother of four children examined the nutritional potential of this soybean cake.
In his dissertation Prof Arsiniati raised the level of tempe by highlighting its benefits for health as it has been proven that it is cholesterol-free.
Meanwhile, Head of Department of IKM-KP FK UNAIR Dr.Sulistiawati Mkes was impressed with Prof Arsiniati.To her, she is an inspirational and motherly woman.
“There is a great dream that Prof Arsiniati has not yet accomplished, developing the nutrition division by establishing a specialist clinical nutrition master檚 program, ” she said.
Prof Arsiniati wanted to realize her dream as a form of service as a professor of Public Health Sciences.
“We are trying to continue Prof Arsiniati’s dream.But we must be patient, ” she said.
