UNAIR NEWS“ 51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR) awarded the selected sivitas UNAIR who considered as active person in filling the content of campus official website and blog on Friday (22/12). The award was intended as a form of appreciation for participating in effort of of increasing UNAIR ranking in Webometric.
The award by Directorate of Informatics System UNAIR was provided to four categhories winner, includes the best faculty website, unit, and institution; the best program study official website, the best civitas academic blog, and the best student blog.

In the assessment, 70 percent of them refer to indicators provided by Webometric. The assessment includes presence, total number of web pages, including rich files associated with academic content, and visibility, the total number of subnets coming from backlinks connected to the domain of the faculty or unit.
Then, Transparency aspect, scientific content based on citation or quotes found on google scholar. Particularly in articles that use an email address or an official university domain. And, excellence aspect, the richness of scientific content found and disitized by articles on other web. Each subdomain calculated the acquisition by visibility and excellence indicators through the Ahrefs and Majestic applications.
Meanwhile, 30 percent of other indicators are assessed by the quality and quantity of content, both websites and blogs. For example, the material presented and the view created. A total of 30 percent of the assessment involves four competent expertise.
DSI Director Badrus Zaman, S. Kom., M.Cs., expected web and blogs on UNAIR increasingly rich in content and get more academic civitas who will use both web media and blogs provided by UNAIR.
“If the quality is good, it will be reposted by many people. We are as a higher education institution could be a source and reference for everything that becomes problematic in society. So, that way, automatically, backlinks will increase. Indirectly, it gives enlightenment to the community, “said Badrus.
Currently for web and blogs monitoring in UNAIR, the DSI team is working on a good system to monitor website updates.
“So, we can monitor which units or faculty that upload news or content. It will be routinely reported to the officials. It is a control to take care of our website in terms of content, “said Badrus.
Through the awarding, Badrus expects that UNAIR’s ranking on Webometrics will increase. Because, on July 2017, UNAIR is on 15th position in Indonesia, from the previous ranking 10th on January 2017.
“This year our position went down. Hopefully there will be a turning point. We can reach the top ten in Indonesia, and even to the top five. And also we can reach 2.5% of international universities, specifically from Webometric, “said Badrus. (*)
