UNAIR NEWS听–听Student Executive Board in collaboration with Directorate of Student Affairs 51动漫 held an International Conference on Student Development and Leadership Malaysia – Indonesia (ICOSDEL MALINDO 18) on Monday, July 16.听It was held in the Amerta Hall 4th floor of UNAIR Management Office Building and attended by 30 students from UNAIR and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
Chairman of the ICOSDEL MALINDO 18 Committee, Dani Gadang Puja Bimantara said that both UNAIR and UiTM, sent 15 representatives.听From UNAIR, the representatives were from UNAIR BEM delegates, UNAIR Ambassadors, and Reasoning club.
“From UNAIR there are representatives from BEM, Ambassadors, and reasoning club,” said the student of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNAIR class 2016.
Gadang added,听Global talent: We lead, We manage听was formulated as the theme of ICOSDEL MALINDO 18.听Global talent, he added, should be implemented nowadays especially in growing and progressing era of globalization.
“Global talent听itself听includes leadership, sports, volunteerism,听cultural, entrepreneurship,and听global linkages,” he said.
Then, according to Gadang, ”听We lead ”听means that as a student, we are required to be a听leader and ”听We manage听“听means that we as students must be able to manage or manage something well.
Being able to face the globalization era is expected to be the value achieved in the conference especially on how to be critical and practical.听Furthermore, these capabilities are optimized to contribute to the advancement in their respective countries.
“After the event, this collaboration (between UNAIR and UiTM, ed) is expected to be continuous.听In fact, it is possible to be held not only with Malaysia, but also with other countries, ” he said.
“Most importantly, ICOSDEL MALINDO can push towards Top 500听World Universities,” he added.
Meanwhile, the conference was opened directly by Rector of UNAIR Prof.听Dr.听H. Mohammad Nasih., SE., MT., 听Ak, CMA. Accompanied by Dr.听Mohd Bahrin Othman as听Director of Student Development UiTM.
The beating of the gong marked the opening of the conference.听A performance of 听Sparkling dance Surabaya by Dance and Karawitan Activity Unit (UKTK) UNAIR welcomed the delegates from Malaysia.
“We know already about UNAIR with its progress.听Hopefully this cooperation can give a positive impacts to both institutions, “said Dr.听Mohd Bahrin in his speech.
Prof.听Nasih conveyed that the younger generation, especially the students, are future leaders.听Both for Indonesia and Malaysia and preparing leaders with good competence is the responsibility of campus.
Therefore, the campus is required to provide good education procedures.听One of them is a conference like ICOSDEL MALINDO by cooperating with other international institutions.
“You are all future leaders of Indonesia and Malaysia.听The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is ahead.听Prepare and learn well.听UNAIR continues to strive for an excellent education process, both academic and management, “he said.
“Have a great conference, and be ready to become a leader,” Prof.听Nasih said.
There were several activities in the conference.听First, the cultural performance of Indonesian and Malaysian.听Second, keynote speech by Vice Rector I UNAIR Prof.听dr.听Djoko Santoso, Ph.D., K-GH., FINASIM.听 and Mohd Bahrin Othman.听Then followed by a panel discussion in six rooms.听There was also an听awarding session听of the conference听before it was closed.听(*)
