UNAIR NEWS “ Being productive can be also done during holidays such as the experience of three students of Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) (UNAIR).
Under the guidance of a supervisor, Retno Pudji Rahayu, drg., M.Kes, the team of Aulia Nur Layli, Aisyah Rachmadani Putri and Rizkia P Anggraeni won 3rd place in Soedirman Dental Scientific Meeting 2018. The competition took place at Universitas Jenderal Sudirman, Purwokerto, on Saturday, July 14.
The team, led by Aulia, has succeeded in the competition attended by dentistry students all over Indonesia.
“The enthusiasm of participants for the competition was quite high even during holiday and exam period.This is a special experience for me as my presentation was during the holiday, “said Aisyah, one of the team members.
In the competition, Aisyah and team wrote about stem cell, especially on benign tumortreatmentin the oral cavity.
“We were inspired by some scientific journals we read.There is an incidence and prevalence of benign tumors in the oral cavity is quite high, “explained the girl who is also active as Head of Department of Education and Profession BEM FKG UNAIR.
The process of participating in the competition was begun with submitting an abstract.Of the total abstracts, 10 best works were selected.Then, it is ranked to decide which finalists will proceed to the poster competition stage.After that, the participants submittedfullpaper to be presented at the final event at FKG Universitas Jenderal Sudirman.
“Hoepfully there will be more students especially from FKG will participate, working on scientific work like this as there are still many problems on dental and oral medicine,” explained Aisyah.“Hopefully our work can be useful for all those who read,” she added.(*)
