UNAIR NEWS– An earthquake occurred in North Lombok some time ago made various groups empathize.Aside from government officials led by President Joko Widodo, others also came to provide assistance, including the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital.
The floating hospital which was operational on Saturday, August 11, 2018, also helped the relief efforts there. A baby boy was even born in the floating hospital. He was born on August 16, 2018 and named Airlangga Gempa Putra.
For this excellence, Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital has received a lot of appreciation.One of the appreciation was from the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi while visiting North Lombok on Sunday, August 26. The Minister of Transportation stated that he was proud of the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital.
Budi Karya visited Bangsal Harbor, Pemenang Sub-district, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).The number one person in Ministry of Transportation directly inspected the condition of the port after the earthquake.The port is important for the economy, place for local and domestic tourist vessels from Lombok-Gili Trawangan and Bali-Lombok.
Budi Karya had seen the health services of Field Hospital (RSL) for earthquake casualties.He also took time to see Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital directly in the harbor.He expressed his pride.
In the waters of North Lombok, Ksatria Floating Hospital carried out many medical actions for casualties.Orthopedics and childbirth are part of the services provided.
There are two decks and one bridge.On the ground deck, there is a diagnostic andrecovery room and a large operating room.On the second deck, there is a small operating room, a medical equipment sterilization room, a dressing room, and a bathroom that is one with a laundry room equipped with a washing machine.Director of RSTKA, dr.Agus Harianto, Sp.B, accompanied and explain the function of each room.
Meanwhile, the captain, Capt.Mudatsir is in the wheel.The man from Bulukumba explained, the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital was built in 2017. The ship can speed up to 10 knots / hour.The Rp. 1 billion engine makes the ship’s acceleration as fast as boats for tourism.
