UNAIR Student Wins Best Oral Presentation Award in Malaysia

UNAIR NEWS“ A delegate of 51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR) was awarded thebest oral presentationin The 9thInternational Medical, Pharmaceutical, Cosmeceutical and Health Sciences Symposium (iMPaCHS) 2017. The conference was held by Management and Science University (MSU) on Friday, December 22.

The delegate™s name was Rebhika Lusiana, an undergraduate student of UNAIR Apothecary Education Class of 2014. Besides Rebhika, Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) UNAIR also sent Nindya Pramesti, an undergraduate student of UNAIR Apothecary Education 2015.

Rebhika, the head of the team, presented a paper entitled ”Phytoremediation Integrated Zone (PIZ): River Revitalization System Based On Phytoremediation as Concept to Solve Impact of Population Explosion“.The paper was written because they want to provide solutions related to environmental problems due to population explosion.

The population explosion brings more waste in the river.There is more pollution, both from organic or inorganic materials.The pollution causes the quality of water decreased.

To overcome this, Rebhika and her team offered an idea of ‹‹an integrated phytoremediation zone.The zone is located in a river consisting of several components whoseoutputis to reduce pollution caused by population explosions.

“The project is expected to bring positive impacts not only for the environment, but also for the economy of local people and the education of the children, “said Rebhika.

Participants of the conference are students from various countries such as Malaysia, Japan, India, China, and Indonesia.In addition topaper presentation, another category was poster presentation.There were about 70 papers presented in the forum.There were hundreds of participants from various participating countries in total for both competitions.

By becoming a delegate of Faculty of Pharmacy and obtainingbest oral presentation, Rebhika hoped that UNAIR can become a place for students to advance.In addition, the participation of delegates from the campus also improves UNAIR recognition at international scene.

“For fellow students, keep the high spirit and work hard to pursue ideals andmakealma mater proud.Because,we are still young.We have a lot of chance to grow up and be the best of our self, “said the woman born in Bojonegoro, 4 November 1995.(*)
