UNAIR NEWS School of Airlangga in Harmony (SCOLAH)揢NAIR Teaches has held another foster sibling forum in Pucukan, Candi, Sidoarjo Regency on Saturday, April 29. Pucukan hamlet is 25 km away from the regency of Sidoarjo and most of the inhabitants are traditional fisherman and brackishwater fish breeders. It is one of the remote parts of Sidoarjo.
To get to Pucukan, the members of UNAIR Teaches usually use the boat service. But this time, they had to go around and farther as their usual boat had a leak. Nevertheless, the long distance did not stop them to keep going and sharing knowledge to the students of SDN Gebang II.
淭he usual boat which takes us had a leak so we had to go through narrow and difficult path. To avoid falling over the bikes we decided to walk, said Adindha Nur Rizky, one of the members of Public Relations Divisions.
In SDN Gebang II, there are only three classes, Class 1, Class 3 and Class 5. The school management does not open the other class because there were limited students from the locals. UNAIR Teaches keeps providing them academic learning, extracurricular activities and games. Even though everything is tough and they have limited access to education, the students of SDN Gebang II always showed their enthusiasm during the activities.
For that occasion, the members of UNAIR Teaches presented a topic on clean and healthy life such as by washing hands properly. 淔urthermore, the guessing word game, where the word is placed over the head makes the students most interested. Every pair of students has to guess the word described by their friends. The class became even more fun with their happiness, said Adindha.
UNAIR Teaches activity is not only organized in Pucukan but also in Panjang Jiwo and Sukomanunggal. The objective is to serve the marginalized communities.
