UNAIR NEWS There was an MoU signing between UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., and Indonesian Journalist Association (PWI) of East Java, UNAIR and two other institutions in Surabaya are trusted as the educational institutions which conduct journalist competence test. The MoU signing was held at the same time with the celebration of National Press Day in Grahadi, Wednesday, March 29.
The competence test is expected to be a way to improve quality of journalist in their professional work. To organize this test, UNAIR檚 expert of communication and law will formulate instruments to make points of materials for the test.
淯NAIR as an academic institution with obligation from the University Tri Dharma, welcomed well this partnership. We will support the journalist to work professionally and improve the quality of the profession and uphold the code of ethics, said Prof. Nasih.
Regarding UNAIR檚 role in this competence test, Drs. Suko Widodo, M.Si., as the Head of Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) UNAIR said that, UNAIR is the right institution for it as UNAIR has some excellent points, such as having a program in media.
淲e have accredited A bachelor program of Communication and master program of Media and Communication. It is only relevant if PWI refers to UNAIR as the program has a good relation with the press, said Suko in Grahadi. (*)
