UNAIR NEWS Being an academic, in this case a university student, doesn檛 mean focusing only on books. There are tons of activities outside academic activities one can do, one of which is entrepreneurship.
One of young entrepreneurs from 51动漫 who has been stepping onto independency is Muhammad Aminuddin Ghufron Ali Musmar, a student from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine. He is a young entrepreneur full of activities and remarkable achievements. To UNAIR NEWS, Ghufron, his nickname, told us how he started his business.
淚 joined UNAIR Faculty of Fisheries and Marine in 2013, hoping that when I graduate later I will have a lot of fish ponds, said Ghufron, starting his story.
Ghufron, who received Bidikmisi (Education Fund for Accomplished Penniless Students) scholarship, revealed that he had been independent since he was at semester two. Apart from scholarship income, he earned extra money from his ready-made clothing business with two of his friends. It was with these two friends he started his business. Ghufron was active in some student activity centers at campus. This was not without reasons. By being active in many activities, his chance to find market was bigger.
淚 work with my friends. I do the marketing. The good thing is, I have many friends at campus. Well, that檚 my aim really, friends and market at the same time, he explained.
After one year, Ghufron could bank around 30 million. In the third semester, Ghufron won Mien R Uno Foundation scholarship, which focused on educating their students to become entrepreneurs. Through the scholarship, he got lots of information about entrepreneurship.
Since he was active in two Students Activity Unit (UKM), Ghufron decided to stop his clothing business temporarily. At that time, he was active at UKM Setia Hati Terate and was also appointed 2015 Chief of National Joint Training for University Scouts. In 2016, Ghufron was appointed chief of Communication Forum (FORKOM). After that, Ghufron decided to change course and focused on catfish cultivation at home in Desa Cengkir, Kecamatan Kepohbaru, Kabupaten Bojonegoro.
淲hen I got the money, I remembered my earlier ambition to have a fish pond. In the end, I made 5 concrete ponds, 3 ponds for bigger fish and 2 griding ponds, Ghufron continued.
Ghufron saw that his opportunity to grab success was big when he focused himself on catfish cultivation. So then, when he harvested his cultivation for the first time, he built 12 more ponds all at once.
Not long after, on 1 February 2017, he inaugurated his business by setting up a limited partnership (CV). 淏ecause one other aim of having business is to make people prosperous, I patented my business into a CV namely CV. Mina Sejahtera,漵aid the student who once won an international pencak silat competition.
Ghufron kept in mind an advice he heard from an important person, that to become an entrepreneur, apart from hard work, one has to work smartly, wholeheartedly, and sincerely. Nowadays, Ghufron has some foster entrepreneurs. They want to seriously involve in catfish cultivation business. In addition, CV. Mina Sehatera employs four people including Ghufron.
淚 hope after having a CV I can help those who want to build a career in catfish cultivation and I also hope it will be a means to market catfish, so that we can sell our fish with reasonably good price, higher than when the catfish was bought directly by brokers, told Ghufron.
Ghufron also hoped that in the future he could develop a catfish cultivation village which also functions as education and recreation site which will prosper the villagers. (*)
