UNAIR NEWS –The development of information technology brings people to an era of openness.All information can be accessible, including information in the field of health.This issue was discussed by the Faculty of Public Health UNAIR with Forum Informatika Kesehatan Indonesia (FIKI).
The event entitled Optimization of HIS (Health Information System) and ICT (Integrated Communication and Tecnology) in decision making to support SDGs was held at Mercure Hotel Surabaya on Wednesday, November 8.
In the forum held regularly, it presents various practitioners, professors, WHO representatives, and representatives of several universities.drg.Oscar Primadi, MPH., as the representative of Ministry of Health said that different geographical conditions in Indonesia pose challenges to build from the edge to the middle.
“This is our effort to build through the network in order to open connectivity,” he said.
The government in implementing health development in Indonesia, according to Oscar, always does it through service connectivity such as through puskesmas which plays an important role to open access for society.In addition, he also gave an example from a Nusantara Sehat program that puts health workers in areas that are difficult to reach.
“Human resources quality in the field of health were improved by Nusantara Sehat.It is conducted to reach the remote areas of Indonesia in terms of health distribution, ” he explained.
In response to that statement, Vice Rector IV UNAIR Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D., the progress of health services should be followed by technological advancement.
Junaidi in his speech also said that the existence of a forum involving various parties related to health care observers, can be partners of the government in integrating and providing access to health.According to him, quality data is generated from reliable information system that can provide information in decision making to make policy in all regions.The information system, has now become an effective management tool.
“This kind of forum can help to formulate better health development for Indonesia,” he said.
