UNAIR NEWS –Idul Fitri is a moment to stay in touch with family and people closest to you.There is not an exception for ViceIV overseeing the business and alumni cooperation, Junaidi Khotib, Ph.D.
贵辞谤听迟丑别 Pharmacylecturerknown as Junaidi, he always uses the Eid moment to go back to his hometown in Jombang.From a series of homecoming experiences, Junaidi once had an interesting story when he was going home to his hometown during college.
Junaidi recalled, he was just able to go home to celebrate Eid a night before the d-day.He had to do a lot of practices in the laboratory.It was understandable as Junaidi is the alumnus.
After his practical work finished at night, he immediately looked for a night bus to take him back to his hometown.
However, he sometimes had to be ‘naughty’ to the bus crew.The crew often rejected him as Jombang, his hometown is not very far from Surabaya.
“At that time, when there are lots of passengers, they did not even accept passengers with close destinations.When I wanted to take a bus, I said my destination was further, but when I wanted to pay, I said to get off in Jombang,” he recalled with laughter.
According to Junaidi, Eid exodus is a cultural activity commonly done most people to gather with family.Therefore, most people are willing to spend time on the road as well as to spend money to stay in touch with family.
For the same reason, Junaidi still does it until now.The difference with the period of college, Junaidi went home to Jombang with his small family after visiting his family’s wife in Surabaya.
While gathering with family, he escapes from his routines onmomentarily.With his big family, the 47-year-old man shares stories and eats his favorite food, chicken opor.
“We meet with the rest of the families who have been busy in a joyful moment.We let ourselves go from work.We can feel that the family is so peaceful.We become what we are.We tell each other, advise, and share experiences,” said the third child of five siblings.
For the Clinical Pharmacy experts, the moment of Eid and Ramadan is a space and time for people to introspect themselves.The man born on October 22, 1970 added that the quality of self after all worships during the month of Ramadan must improve the human relations with God, and the relationship between humans.
“Including relationships with relatives and co-workers.We have to be better people after Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, ” he concluded.
