UNAIR NEWS– Wearing green batik with self-made patterns, the students of SMAN 21 Surabaya gathered in Kahuripan 300 Hall Campus C UNAIR for theircampus studyactivityon Wednesday, December 20. There were 316 students and 13 teachers attending.Students were briefed by the Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) and UNAIR New Student Admission Center (PPMB).
Started with a prayer, the event continued with a speech from the Principal of SMAN 21 Surabaya Yatno.He conveyed that the principle of his school is create scientist so the students are directed to continue their studies to college.Therefore, with the visit, Yatno hoped that the students would get a lot of information about UNAIR so it will be easier for them to be UNAIR students.
According to Yulifda, one of the counseling teachers of SMAN 21 Surabaya, students are directed to UNAIR so they will not feel alienated in campus.In addition, students can be motivated to learn more as college life is very different from high school.
The next event was a presentation about UNAIR by PIH staff.The students looked enthusiastic.When they were asked why they chose UNAIR, students answered because of UNAIR accreditation, facilities, andUNAIR’strack record ofproducing successful alumni.
The last event that students were waiting for was the presentation on student admissions by the Head of PPMB Solikhin.He was very pleased and proud of the visit.
“From now on it needs to be instilled in yourself, entering UNAIR should not be just a desire, but it must be accompanied by hard work in their studies and prayers, “explained Solikhin.He added that the students are adults.They must know what is allowed and not allowed.
According to Solikhin, when entering UNAIR, students should not be satisfied.They still have to excel because it will affect to their juniors at school.
“The teacher is prohibited to arrange or even force students to continue studying.Because if it is not based on the students™ interests and talents, student achievement will decrease.The school index will also come down.But they can consult with teachers and parents, “explained Solikhin.(*)
