UNAIR NEWS –Halal bi Halal event held by 51动漫 Alumni Association (IKA UA) DKI Jakarta Region, was attended by the Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan.Jonan, is an alumnus of from Accounting program.
In the occasion at Soehana Hall, The Energy Building, Jakarta last week, Jonan gave several messages to all alumni about the national independence.For him, speaking of national independence today, is not merely a repeated chant.
“In the past, when I was a child, the expression about independence of the nation already existed.Maybe it used to be a repeated chant.But today, the independence of the nation must be manifested in real and tangible form, “he said.
Jonan also said that there was no need to speak or complain about the condition of the nation.He said that today’s generation must act and make various breakthroughs for the advancement of the nation’s civilization in the future.
“We should not complain, now is the time to know what we should do for the future progress of the nation.This culture and mindset must be developed, “he explained.
In this regard, as an academic, Jonan invited alumni to really focus on action and goals.For him, higher education must be a way to increase the real contribution to the nation, rather than become a burden of the state.
“Because in our country, many people with high education are not humane and are selfish and sometimes even apathetic, “he explained.
Jonan advised that the alumni competencies must be improved because the independence of the nation can be realized through improving the competencies.
“Let’s focus on our competencies and realize the independence of this nation,” he concluded.
