UNAIR NEWS – A daughter of a tailor named Wiretno managed to “fly” around the world for the sake of the nation.In her trip abroad, she presented her various scientific works in front of academic community.
In 2015, she presented his idea in South Korea on the flow of remittance funds for female workers.In the scientific work entitled “Indonesian Migrant Workers in South Korea Study of Remittance and Lifestyle”, Retno managed to enter the top five and got an award from the Indonesian Student Society in South Korea in the category of humanities.
In 2017, Retno took part in the 5th ASEAN Academic Society International Conference held in Thailand.In the forum, she presented the expedition of the Indonesian spice route in Maluku.
In addition to her college routines, Retno joined the student associations and student executive bodies and outside campus, the woman with 3.85 GPA was active in various competitions, research, and preservation of cultural heritage.
The bachelor檚 degree graduate of Historical Science together with her community often held a historical tour or historical trail to the public.Retno and her colleagues independently expedited to visit abandoned sites.
“In the historical trail, we educate people about history and cultural preservation through light discussions and seminars,” said Retno.
For the woman from Kediri, knowledge is not only obtained from the classroom.As the best graduate, she said that students should gain knowledge outside the classroom.
“Go out there because going out will show you social realities that can give lessons that is not always about formulas, numbers, and scripts.Do not skip classes,” said the woman born January 1, 1996. (*)
