UNAIR NEWS – “This is all students™ victory, the victory of UNAIR psychology students, whoever becomes the winner, are the best ambassadors who will represent and honor the name of the Faculty of Psychology,” said Dr.Nurul Hartini, M.Kes, Dean of FPsi in her speech at Grand Final 2017 UNAIR Faculty of Psychology Ambassador .
The selection of FPsi ambassadors for the first time brought enthusiasm among the students.Since the registration opened on 26 September, dozens of applicants submitted the files required.The applicants do not only have academic ability, but also non-academic which are proven through the achievement that has been obtained. Furthermore, they are also required to be able to communicate well and look attractive.
“For the first stage we have to submit various documents and meet the requirements, including a minimum GPA of 2.75 as well as to master the English and Indonesian,” said Awwalu Nur Rizqi who was crowned as a the Talented Ambassador.
Before being announced to the final round, all applicants must follow a written test and focus group discussion (FGD) in English and Indonesian.The FGD Forum used general knowledge on FPsi and UNAIR as a theme.
The elected 13 finalists were then quarantined and the selection process continued.This time the judges gave the challenge of making a video of introduction of one of the existing rooms in FPsi and a talent show video.Video making time was relatively short.In addition, finalists still had to go to their classes and other activities.
“I was surprised at first, but when I think about all that I have done to be here why shouldn™t I go all out for it,” said Awwalu also known as Cicik.
Cicik said that some nights before the Grand Final on Wednesday (18/10), the 13 finalists conducted a depth interview.
Until the final stage, all the finalists were faced with a question and answer session around the world of psychology.The challenge was, they must answer the questions before the judges and of course the audience.
“Why is psychology a necessary science for life today?Because basically, psychology studies the soul and individual character.If you know that, then the relationship and interaction will be developed more, “replied Rhajiv Nur Ilham.
The three selected finalists each received the same question, namely how to interpret the victory, if tonight was crowned as the ambassador of Psychology.
“First, extend my thanks to God, then try as much as possible to devote to the Faculty of Psychology, and actively participate in faculty and university activities,” answered Rhajiv Nur Ilham who was named as the first Faculty of Psychology Ambassador.(*)
