The answers to the questions will be found if you choose Development Economics as a major for your bachelor program. That is what the Department Head concurrently Coordinator Officer of Development Economics Bachelor Program Dr. Muryani, S.E., M.Si., MEMD recently said.
Muryani mentioned that the study of Economics is a unique science because it exists between Social Science and Science itself. 淐all it exact science because it consists of mathematics and statistics. To call it pure social is untrue because it contains a lot of exact sciences, explained Muryani when being met at the Faculty of Economics and Business, 51动漫.
In the Development Economics Bachelor Program, students are allowed to choose between five majors, which have their own learning material focus. The five majors are monetary economics, planning economics, international economics, environment economics, and public economics.
Until today, monetary economics becomes the most favorite choice among the students. Muryani stated that the wide range of prestigious jobs is one of the reasons. A number of Development Economics Bachelor Program graduates currently hold strategic positions at bank or government institutions.
In the study of monetary economics, students can learn a lot about banking regulations, monetary policies from the government or Bank of Indonesia even about economic inflation.
Besides monetary economics, students can also choose planning economics. 淧lanning Economics is a science which contributes to the national and regional government concerning equal development planning, Muryani explained.
are more interested in international trade, they can choose international economics. In international economics, students can learn a lot about international finance to international trade policies.
Issues regarding energy are studied by who prefer environment economics. 淚n my opinion, this is the science which is trending in the future because environmental problems are faced by countries of the world. So it檚 going to be always in, said Muryani who is also the author of an article entitled 淭he Negative Impact of Avian Flu on Economy in Asian Social Economic Journal 2014.
In the study of public economics, students will learn a lot about issues concerning state finance, such as institutional economics.
To be Abreast of the Time
To stay responsive with the time, lecturers at the Economic Science Department have undergone a curriculum redesign. Starting from the year of 2017, students can choose and learn between four new studies. The studies are marine economics, health economics, political economics, and strategic economics.
淲e try to stay abreast of the time, always pay attention to relevant issues in the society. By relevant means what present and trending, said the Head of Economic Science Department FEB UNAIR.
淢arine Economics will be synchronized with national programs. We (Indonesia) will focus on the marine pillar. Second is Health Economics. In the future, it is predicted that people will be more prosperous, however diseases related to economy will also follow. Perhaps a person is getting richer but catching obesity at the same time, Muryani added.
淭hird is Political Economics. In regards that political decisions can affect the economic condition. people will get some insights about Political Economics. Fourth is Strategic Economics. Strategic Economics concerns about business. Even though from Economic Science, people need to have business insights which will be a core for management. Who knows after graduating, he doesn檛 have to apply for a governmental job but to be an entrepreneur, she concluded.
