UNAIR NEWS College activities are indeed colorful. The fun can be found in academic classes or . For Intan Lazuardi, S.Pi one of the activities that bring colors into her life is when she participated in an international seminar with her counselor lecturer.
In the seminar, held in Balikpapan in 2016, her research abstract was approved by the committee. This alumnus of Fishery Products Industrial Technology Bachelor Program developed a research about how to do demineralization of clamshells adverse effects to the environment. Intan admitted never had she imagined to be present in academic forum which was attended by civitas academica of numerous universities in Indonesia.
Besides participating in seminars, the woman who earned a GPA of 3.83 was also active in doing internships. According to the record, Intan has attended four internships in different training places. In early 2015, she took an internship in the quality assurance section of a fishery company in Banyuwangi, and was in charge of supervising shrimps production.
In 2014 Intan took an internship at Central for Testing the Application of Fishery Products in Jakarta. While in Jakarta, she was in charge of analyzing microbiology in seaweed-based cosmetics. In the same year, Intan also took an internship at Central for the Development of Brackish Water Cultivation in Jepara. Here she was in charge of producing artificial fish feed with papain enzyme mixture. In Jepara, this Sidoarjo woman was assisting in shrimp feed production. In the previous year, she took an internship at First Class Fish Quarantine Hall in Juanda, Sidoarjo.
淏y taking internship, we learn a little about the working world. Besides, internship is far different from practicum in campus. When in , we do practicum in groups. But in internship, we can do practicum independently. All we need to do is asking the office for what we want to learn about, she explained.
Moreover, internship is one way to spend time when there is a break from college activities. 淩ather than wasting time on holiday, I choose internship to spend my free time instead, Intan mentioned.
For her , Intan joined the Choir UKF group. With her choir group, she has participated in numerous events, like fishery symposiums and others. For her final assignment, the woman who is an expert in using e-invoice taxation application wrote an essay entitled 淭he Effect of Hydrochloric Acid Concentration and Demineralization Temperature on the Shell Chitin Characteristic of Scallop (Atrina pectinata). Here she conducted a research on the success of clamshells to produce chitin by using demineralization method.
淐hitin can be produced from clamshells waste. But for now, there aren檛 many researches yet about the usage of clamshells. Whereas it檚 good if we can make use of the clamshells waste because that means we are reducing the effect of environmental pollution, added this born 11 March 1994 woman. (*)
