FEB UNAIR alumnus launches KarirCare to guide students in facing professional world

UNAIR NEWS 揥ith a background in the corporate world, Restu Bagus Wicaksono is now recognized as an entrepreneur developing several business lines. One of them is KarirCare, a career development platform he founded through PT Menuju Karir Gemilang Indonesia. The Faculty of Economics and Business 51动漫 (UNAIR) Management alumnus serves as co-founder and CEO, driving the development of KarirCare.

He graduated in 2008 and began his career as a management trainee at Astra before he decided to focus on building businesses. Among his ventures, KarirCare was born from his personal concern about many students struggling to navigate the workforce.

淜arirCare was created out of personal concern. I saw students losing direction during interviews with no guidance on how to enter the professional world, Wicaksono said.

From campus organizations to business world

During his time at the Faculty of Economics and Business 51动漫 (UNAIR), Wicaksono was active in various student activities. He joined the Student Executive Board and served as vice-chair of the Management Student Association. According to Wicaksono, his organizational experience became the most influential foundation in his career journey.

The experience accustomed him to working in teams and building relationships. Wicaksono considers the patterns he followed in the organization still relevant in developing his business today. The ability to identify opportunities and seize them serves as an important asset in running his business.

淚n organizations, if you can identify opportunities, you will gain many benefits and, of course, knowledge, Wicaksono said.

KarirCare, career mentoring space

The concern over many students struggling during recruitment processes became the starting point for the birth of KarirCare. He noted that the problem was not related to academic ability, but rather the lack of guidance when entering the professional world.

KarirCare has since developed into a mentoring service for students, recent graduates, and individuals seeking to advance their careers. Its focus is not only on preparing for job selection, but also on helping participants understand their potential and determine their career direction more purposefully.

In closing, he advised students not to focus solely on finding a job. 淒on檛 get distracted by what others are doing. Focus on your talents and interests. If that is what you love, explore it deeply and become the best version of yourself, Wicaksono said.

His journey shows that a career path can start from a simple concern. With consistency and a willingness to keep learning, opportunities will open along the way.
