UNAIR NEWS Chindy Andini Putri, a Nursing student at 51动漫 (UNAIR), secured the East Java Health Ambassador 2026. She earned the honor at the provincial selection held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Lagoon Avenue Mall Surabaya. The event forms part of the Indonesian Health Ambassador initiative, which aims for greater public awareness of health issues.
Behind the Health Ambassador title
Putri, a first-year student at the Faculty of Nursing (FKp), emphasized the title represents more than ceremonial recognition. She described it as a platform to deliver tangible contributions through education, community engagement, and public health advocacy.
淭his began with my personal intention to serve and motivate communities in East Java. Since high school, I realized that theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient and must be complemented by real world experience. The same applies to nursing, which is why I believe collaboration and direct engagement with communities are essential, Putri said.
Facing challenges
During the competition process, Putri acknowledged several challenges, particularly her limited experience as a first-year student. She viewed these limitations as opportunities to deepen her understanding and expand her knowledge in the health sector.
淚 initially felt constrained by my limited knowledge as a new student, but it ultimately strengthened my motivation. I want to continue contributing, learning, and growing so I can deliver meaningful impact, especially in public health, she added.
Hopes for the future
Beyond the achievement, Putri expressed hope that her accomplishment will inspire other students and the wider public to prioritize health awareness. She emphasized that the title carries responsibility to generate positive impact, both in improving quality of life and in encouraging healthier lifestyles among younger generations.
淚t is an honor to be part of the East Java Health Ambassadors. Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into pageantry and health knowledge. Moving forward, I hope to become an agent of change who can inspire others and contribute to communities, particularly in rural areas of East Java, Putri said.
