The highly competitive process involved 1,690 schools representing regions across all provinces in Indonesia. The announcement was conducted in a hybrid format at the Hall on the first floor of the Management Building, MERR-C Campus, and streamed via Zoom and UNAIR檚 official YouTube channel.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, MSi, MFin said that this year檚 program saw a significant surge in interest. A total of 3,855 students applied, competing for the opportunity to be students of UNAIR (Ksatria Airlangga).
High enthusiasm and intense competition
Prof. Madyan explained that the large number of applicants reflects growing public confidence in UNAIR檚 academic quality. To ensure a fair and objective evaluation, the university implemented a quadrant-based assessment system.
淭his quadrant system captures a combination of academic excellence and achievement excellence, allowing for a more balanced and comprehensive evaluation, he said.
Prof. Madyan further revealed that after the initial screening, 207 students were placed in Quadrant 1, while 68 students were categorized in Quadrant 2. The data highlights the presence of highly talented students with strong capabilities in both academic and non-academic areas.
淭herefore, the next phase of selection is critical to ensure that the most deserving candidates are identified through an objective and comprehensive process, he added.
The professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business explained that Quadrant 1 includes applicants with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements. Quadrant 2 consists of those with strong academic performance and exceptional non-academic achievements. Quadrant 3 includes candidates with standard academic performance, while Quadrant 4 comprises those with very strong academic results but average non-academic achievements.
淐andidates in Quadrant 2 are those proposed to receive the golden ticket through the SNBP pathway, he stated.
Admission pathways at UNAIR
