UNAIR NEWS A team from the Management Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), 51动漫 (UNAIR), secured first place in the National Mini Case Competition Themed Sustainable Business Strategy for Emerging Talents. The competition, organized by Dream Career Indonesia in collaboration with Pertamina and PLN as case partners, was held on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

The team, consisting of Jessica Angel Pramudinata, Irvan Betrando Banjarnahor, and Domenico Nathan Karsanto, outperformed hundreds of participants from across the country. Pramudinata, speaking on behalf of the group, expressed gratitude for the achievement.

淲e had never joined a competition like this before, so we approached it simply to gain experience without overthinking the outcome. When our team was announced as the winner, it felt surreal and unforgettable, she said.

The competition檚 case study centered on ESG (environmental, social, governance) implementation in an energy company facing tax penalties due to noncompliant carbon emissions, as well as inefficiencies caused by inefficient power generation systems. To address these issues, the team proposed retrofitting the cooling system to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

They also recommended adopting waterless Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology to help the company meet emission standards. In addition, they proposed a carbon credit certification scheme as a pathway for global collaboration, enabling the company to generate additional revenue while supporting zero-emission goals.

Karsanto explained that their solution resulted from intensive independent research conducted over three days without external assistance. 淭he case was heavily oriented toward engineering, while we come from a management background. That is why we carried out thorough independent research and remained committed to delivering the best possible solution, he said.

The team acknowledged that the process was not without challenges. They faced differences in opinion, scheduling constraints, and the difficulty of developing practical solutions outside their primary field of study. 淲e encountered many obstacles, but we addressed them by improving communication, continuing to learn together, and trusting in our capabilities, Pramudinata said.

The 淎nak Papi J team encouraged fellow students to explore opportunities beyond their academic disciplines. They emphasized that continuous learning, teamwork, and strong communication are key factors in achieving success.

淏ig achievements start with small steps. Never hesitate to begin, even if you have no prior experience, Karsanto said.

Pramudinata added that students should take initiative, seize opportunities, and prepare thoroughly to deliver their best performance in any competition.
