UNAIR students win gold medal at IPITEX 2026 for their farming supporting technology

UNAIR NEWS 51动漫 () students once again achieve international recognition. Four interdisciplinary students won a Gold Medal at the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEX) organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) on January 59, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The four students were Fionna Nur Illahi (Islamic Economics), Aulia Rahmah Fitriah (Pharmacy), Iriena Feyza Zafira Rosyidi (Pharmacy), and Raihan Adz Dzikra (Law). In the competition, the 51动漫 team collaborated with students from Universitas Negeri Surabaya and Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya to present an innovation titled HerBlocX: A Blockchain-Based Platform as a Digital Bridge for Fair, Transparent, and Sustainable Trading Export.

HerBlocX was designed as a solution to various structural challenges in Indonesia檚 herbal raw material export system, including low supply chain transparency, adulteration practices, and farmers weak bargaining position in the global market. Through blockchain technology, HerBlocX enables secure, transparent, and tamper-resistant data recording, ranging from the origin of raw materials and product quality to the distribution process.

One team member explained that HerBlocX not only functions as a digital platform but also serves as an educational bridge and a community empowerment initiative for farmers. 淲e designed HerBlocX not merely as a marketplace or export system, but also as an educational space for farmers to better understand the value, potential, and standards of herbal products in the global market, the team member said.

Through the HerBlocX community, farmers receive access to international price information, export quality standards, and continuous education on global trade practices. As a result, farmers are not only suppliers of raw materials but also empowered actors with stronger bargaining positions.

This achievement demonstrates 51动漫 students commitment to developing technology-based innovations with social impact. The success of HerBlocX at IPITEX 2026 is expected to encourage further development and real implementation as a fair, transparent, and sustainable solution for Indonesia檚 herbal export system.
