Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR Explores Collaboration with University of Manchester UK

UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Prof.Moh.Nasih and the rank of leaderships are committed to follow up collaboration with University of Manchester UK through the contribution of Indonesian diaspora invited by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education in 2018 World Class Scholarship Symposium, Prof.Gindo Tampubolon.

After giving a guest lecture to the students of Faculty of Pharmacy (FF), Wednesday, August 15, Prof. Gindo, who is a researcher at University of Manchester, visited the Rector of UNAIR.From that meeting, the Rector was committed to cooperate.

“Prof. Gindo previously had a joint research with Universitas Brawijaya, UNAIR through Faculty of Pharmacy plans to involve Pharmacists or pharmaceutical research fields.We want to collaborate with UNAIR Faculty of Medicine andDr.Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya, “said Vice Dean III FF Dewi Melani Hariyadi, S.Si., M.Phil., Ph.D, Apt.

In this joint research, FF will involve a team from Department of Community Pharmacy and Indonesian Pharmacist Association of Malang branch / East Java.

It is the first time for FF UNAIR to collaborate with University of Manchester, UK.Previously, the faculty has collaborated with Auburn University, USA;Osaka University, Japan;Hiroshima University, National Chiayi University, Taiwan;Naresuan University, Thailand, and several other universities.

“There had not been an intensive (research collaboration) with UK institutions.The collaboration is expected not only at Asian level, but expanded to collaborative activities with the United States, Britain and countries in Europe, ” explained Dewi Melani.

She also said that allof theprogram’soutputs are expected to support the achievements of Faculty of Pharmacy, and UNAIR to reach theTop 500 World Class Universityranking.

FF UNAIR will follow up the discussion with FK UNAIR – RS.Dr.Soetomo and FFUA Team.The Community Pharmacy Department team will review the research material, through the preparation of a questionnaire, with 20,000 respondents.

In addition to joint research with UK,future collaborationoutputsthat can be established are joint publications, PhD students, andshort courseprogramsfor students and staff.(*)
