UNAIR NEWS Debate competition held by Student Association (HMJ) Management , Jember State Polytechnic has proven Faculty of Law students capable in different field competition.
The debate competition was a part of Agribisnis Fair 2017. The topic of the debate competition was on agribusiness, a challenging topic for UNAIR Faculty of Law students as they usually participate in competition about law.
The participants from UNAIR were Dina mariana (2015) and Shevierra Damadiyah (2016) as speakers, and Sayyidatul Insiyah (2016), Sufenia Tirta (2014), and Dedy Kurniawan (2016) as research team. They are from Semi Autonomous Board, won the third place yang berhasil membawa pulang predikat juara III. Mereka tergabung dalam Badan Semi Otonom (BSO), Airlangga Law Student Committee (KOMAHI).
淲e are challenged to participate in the competition. I think it is good to compete in a non-legal competition with general topic and various. As our background is social science, we learn the basic. The key was to learn based on the topic, which was agribusiness and we could find the references in Campus B and C, said Dina, one of the delegates.
The competition held in Jember State Polytechnic, Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6, was participated by students across East Java, such as Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Universitas Jember (Unej), and Institut Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya.
淒uring final round, the motion was Authoritarian Leadership as the Answer to Welfare Problems and we were as pros. Therefore, we must present an authoritarian concept as a good thing, said the 2015 student.
In less than three weeks, the team made a preparation such as journal, articles or thesis research on agribusiness. The delegation has succeeded in winning UB and Unej delegation in the preliminary. The competition was with british parlimentary model. In each debate session, there are four teams with victory point system.
淲e are thankful that even though we have not got the best result, we have done our best. It is the best result for our hardwork, said Dina. (*)
