UNAIR NEWS Handwashing event held by Indonesian Nurse Association (FKp) , on Friday, March 17. It was held simultaneous in East Java involving 1,500 nurses and it was recorded in Indonesian Records Museum (MURI).
It was held at the same time of 43rd Anniversary of Indonesian Nurses. There were 38 Regional Representative Council affiliated in East Java Nurse and fifty educational institutions of East Java.
The event was presided by Head of PPNI of East Java, who is also Dean of FKp Prof Dr Nursalam M.Nurs. East Java made a record in MURI for handwashing event with the most nurses participating.

It was started with a ceremony, then there were activities with tumpeng, balloons and finally handwashing practice with hand sanitizer. This simple handwashing event was held to encourage the public regarding their personal hygiene to prevent diseases transmitted through direct contact.
The theme, Nurses Movement Towards Healthy Community, is expected to improve the community awareness to apply healthy lifestyle.
淭hrough the years, PPNI Anniversary is celebrated with health publicization. This year we are holding correct handwashing training. At least, Indonesian nurses show their concern through health publicization and starts from ourselves, said FKp lecturer. (*)
