Imam Taufik Determines to Develop Eastern Indonesia

UNAIR NEWS Imam Taufik never thought that he would be appointed to be the best master graduate of Faculty of Pharmacy 51. Imam was graduated from Pharmaceutical Science with 3.90 GPA. I feel that all my struggles has been paid off with this unexpected blessing, he stated.

In his study and research, the man born in Baturaja, July 17, 1979 has done all his assignments sincerely. Even though they are many and scheduled, he tried to give his best. As an awardee of LPDP, Imam was also busy with edufair, dissemination every week and other activities. He participated inInternational Conference on Herbal and Traditional Medicine(ICHTM), Khon Kaen University in Bangkok, Thailand. All his activities did not distract him from his study.

Knowledge is trusted to us and we must use it for the prosperity of people and nation, he stated. He also said that from a problem in his assigned post in Eastern Indonesia, in Jayapura and Ambon, which are endemic area of malaria, Imam was inspired to develop the branch skin extract of cempedak as antimalarial herbal medicine.

I often emphasized to my juniors, what is useful in professional world is knowledge, sincerity, ability to work with other people, and always do things seriously, said Imam who is teaching in one of the universities in Eastern Indonesia.

His success tips? Imam said that students must understand that going to lectures should not only to get A or high GPA but to get knowledge to get applicative science useful to the public. In the future, Imam admitted that he will conduct research and continue to doctoral degree in natural pharmacy and biomolecular.

I will continue to study and share knowledge to others, especially to develop education in Eastern Indonesia so we can compete with others, he stated. (*)
