UNAIR NEWS– 51动漫 welcomed the nation’s best students.There were 6,527 bachelor檚 and diploma program freshmen confirmed by Rector Prof.Moh.Nasih at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Campus C UNAIR on Thursday, August 2, 2018.In presence of thousands freshmen, Prof.Nasih said that UNAIR students must be creators of civilization.
“Because in the history of Indonesian civilization, students always appear as characters who play an important role,” he said.
Prof.Nasih also pointed out that in the history of the movement that oversees the process of nation’s independence, the student has always been a driving force.Budi Utomo in 1908, the Youth Pledge of 1928, Independence in 1945, until the Reformation in 1998 could happen because of the role of students in them.
“Therefore, being a student of UNAIR must dare to take an important role in building the history of nation檚 civilization,” he added.
As an effort to have main role in nation檚 civilization, Prof.Nasih encouraged freshmen to continue to study, work hard and strive to improvesoft skills. Moreover, freshmen must also have a humble nature, not arrogant, and have a noble soul and morals.
“That, of course, is one of the embodiments of our motto Excellence with morality听,”
he explained.
In the end, before closing the speech, Prof.Nasih also encouraged new students to join organizations in campus with clear vision and join organizations outside campus with clear ideology and Indonesian values such as HMI, GMNI, PII and KMNU.
“For freshmen, they must be smart in choosing an organization and not afraid to be active students in studies and organizations.Because the big names today were campus activists, ” he explained.
In the inauguration ceremony of 2018 freshmen, Prof.Nasih put on alma mater jackets to some freshmen, received Bidikmisi students, and invited new students to take oath on anti radicalism.
UNAIR received 5327 bachelor檚 freshmen, 1196 three year diploma students and 117 four year diploma students.753 of them received Bidikmisi scholarship spread across the study programs.
