UNAIR NEWS– Alumni Association of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, 51动漫 (IKA FISIP ) understands the importance of post-disaster treatment to victims in the earthquake disaster location.It was conveyed by Head of Partnership Division of IKA UNAIR, Yuliati Umrah, at the Evacuation Command Post as well as the Save Play Area, Gondang Village Sports Hall (GOR) area, Gangga Sub-district, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Sunday, August 26.
“I came here (North Lombok, ed.) as one of the heads of Partnership Division of FISIP UNAIR Alumni Association which initially identified which areas need immediate supports,” Yuli said.
Two weeks of identification showed that many area do not have a Save Play Area as stated in accordance with Article 22 of the UNCRC (The Convention on the Rights of the Child) which has been ratified by Indonesia in the Child Protection Act (UUPA).
Yuli, who is also the Executive Director of Lintang Children’s Foundation (ALIT), then coordinated with fellow alumni to collect donations of goods and money to build Save Play Area and give an example to any organizations, any institutions that manage the safety posts throughout Lombok.
“At first, our crew will only identify for one week.And one week later we establish Save Play Area, at Gondang Sports Hall, Gangga Sub-district, North Lombok, ” she said.
The woman from Jombang, East Java, informed that for one Save Play Area, Rp. 50 million is needed.The existence of Save Play Area is accompanied with training by volunteers for local communities as trauma healing treatments.
According to Yuli, the management of Save Play Area in Gondang was realized from the collected donation from non-alumni UNAIR alumni in Surabaya, including the expatriates and citizens.A Rp. 2000 donation was received.Direct donation of goods is also accepted.
“Save Play Area is a place which protects children, showing that the shelter is a safe place for children,” she explained.
Without a Save Play Area, said Yuli, there could be unwanted happenings, such as sexual harassment on children and women, as shown in data of Mataram City Police Force.
Save Play Area can protect children in refuge and it is also functions to recover the psycho social condition.
It can be done through trauma healing, copy mecanism is expected so if an earthquake occurs they can move faster.
“In Save Play Area there is an emergency school that is different from a regular school.The emergency school approach is done so children can stay at school, ” she concluded.
