UNAIR NEWS – Imam Yuadi, a lecturer of Information and Library Science (IIP) Faculty of Social and Political Studies (FISIP) 51 (UNAIR), honored for outstanding contribution from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan. In this 2017 graduation, this award provided by President of NCTU to the PhD graduates from five different departments.
Although he has Social Science background, but it did not hold him to learn about Digital forensic Science in which is a branch of computer science.
My dissertation entitled Digital Forensics of Printed Source Identification, talks about investigation of printed document to determine the type of real printer through machine learning method, he said
During his study, Imam has written five articles for international publication, four indexed international journal of In Science Citation Index (SCI) or even Scopus, and the other four international publication were on Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)conferencethat presented in Seattle and Arizona (USA), Lisbon (Portugal) and Moscow (Rusia). He also often to deliver the presentation about NCTU in many universities in Indonesia that made him had additional value in acquiring the award.
The unforgettable experience of him when chose professor for dissertation advisor who has electrical engineering background. He felt so regret but with his hard work, patient, and persistence, also emotional support from his family help him to do this.
During my study, I almost spent my time in laboratory for doing my experiment. Even every day I slept in laboratory and rarely to stay in student dormitory, He said
Despite of his dissertation already granted by the advisor, Imam still remain to be expected in conducting research continuously. His current research is cancer image identification through Machine Learning and Deep Learning that it has been submitted for IEEE conference. He also currently is writing for international journal about classification of multi-colorectal cancer.
When I back to UNAIR I will pursue Digital Forensics for documentation, archiving, and Library. As well, It possible to conduct research about digital Forensics in Archeology, Linguistics, Medicine and other science studies, He said
