UNAIR NEWS The reason behind fake news or hoaxes is to getting benefits while putting other parties in a bad spot. Hoax is an example of information and technology abuse. False information will cause confusion in the community.
Hoaxes cannot be stopped entirely as fake news is a part of human life. We can only prevent them from spreading massively and causing turmoil, said the professor of Faculty of Psychology 51 Prof. Dr. Cholichul Hadi, Drs., M.Si.
The problem is not on the hoax the on how we change negative things into something constructive. Start from ourselves. Be a great individual. People become great because of others, including us, said Cholichul.
The expert of organizational and industrial psychology said that false information sharing can be avoided if the people realize what they do will cause problem in the community. Other way we can do is by re-checking the information we receive.
Data validity is a must in sorting information, he added.
Furthermore, everyone must mind the ethics in sharing information. The most important thing is take others interest into account, he said.
