UNAIR NEWS– November 2017 may be a month of mourning for the academic community of Faculty of Medicine, 51动漫.After loosing Professor of Physiology FK UNAIR Prof.Dr.Harjanto, JM, dr, AIFM., on November 7, 2017, FK UNAIR lost another professor, Professor of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine UNAIR Prof.Rachmat Juwono, dr., Sp.PD., K-PTI.
Prof.Rachmat died at the age of 87 years on Friday, November 10, at Santa Vincentius A Paulo (RKZ) Surabaya Hospital.From Adi Jasa Foundation Surabaya, memorial service was held in FK Hall UNAIR on Thursday, November 16. The body then cremated in Eka Praya crematorium, Jalan Kembang Kuning.
Dean of Faculty of Medicine UNAIR with the faculty officials accompanied by Vice Rector I 51动漫 Prof.Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., K-GH., FINASIM were present in the memorial service.
The family, fellow doctor mourned for his passing.Dr.Poernomo Boedi S. Sp.PD KGEH, FINASIM, chairman of Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) East Java region said, FK UNAIR just lost its best doctor.
“He was quiet but really diligent,” he said.
During his lifetime, Prof.Rachmat has been involved in the development of medical science, especially in the field of tropical diseases and infections for 22 years.Prof. Rachmat.is one of the pioneers of Tropical Disease and Infection Division in UNAIR.The division was developed in the 1980s.
“Indonesia is a tropical country, so there are special diseases that must be studied by medical students, especially specialists.Therefore, program of tropical diseases and infection was established, “he said.
