Share Tips & Tricks, Here’s How Alexander Passed IISMA 2023 to France

(19/5/2023) | IISMA, or Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards, has sent thousands of students yearly to study at well-known foreign universities. This program is a dream for many students who wish to gain international exposure and experience studying abroad. Students from the Faculty of Law, 51动漫, are also one of them.

One of the IISMA awardees is Alexander. Alexander is one of the 2020 Air Force Faculty of Law students who has the opportunity to become an awardee at the Grenoble Ecole de Management, France. Alexander chose this campus because the academic period was in accordance with his academic plan at Unair. He himself plans to choose a campus where the duration of study is short so he can return to Indonesia earlier to register and take care of graduation administration and coincidentally GEM can accommodate Alexander’s wish.

Apart from that, Alexander also chose GEM because the campus has courses that are in accordance with the knowledge that Alexander is interested in. The course is Business and Human Rights in Corporations. And with the campus located in France, Alexander also hopes that his French language skills can improve to support his dreams in the future. His plan is to become a diplomat. He believes that if he takes part in IISMA or other student exchange programs, he can help him achieve this goal.

“Not only from expanding networks and acquaintances but also to help me mentally prepare myself to compete globally,” he wrote on the form provided by the FH Unair Public Relations Team.

The student who scored 145 DET on his TOEFL also wrote that the IISMA registration and selection process was tiring because the process was very long. But even so, her hard work paid off when she became an awardee. With such a tiring process, Alexander hopes to become more tolerant and broad-minded and improve his foreign language skills.

Alexander also gave some tips & tricks that he used to choose a host country. He said that the first step that must be carried out is to make an academic plan outside of IISMA, which includes the big goals to be achieved; then from there, look for things that are relevant, for example, the course you are going to study now useful for that purpose?; After answering these questions, then adjust the academic period with the learning plan, don’t let IISMA interfere with the learning process at major universities; the last one is to look at the life situation and funding from the destination country, choose a country with a larger scholarship allowance so that it can help expedite the learning process and life in general.

Apart from these tips & tricks, Alexander gave a few messages and impressions for the IISMA program. Alexander said “On target, the hope is that the quota will be bigger and can make this program something that has a “degree” and not just a non-degree program. In other words, Alexander hopes that IISMA can become a long-term program that brings benefits in the form of degrees to its awardees to increase their prestige in the eyes of Indonesian students.
