SURABAYA “ HUMAS | On Tuesday (14/02), FISIP UNAIR welcomed a visit from SMA Negeri 7 in Depok City. The event took place in the Soetandyo Hall, C Building of FISIP UNAIR, and was attended by several students from both the Science and Social Sciences streams in the 11th grade. The purpose of this visit was to familiarize the students of SMA Negeri 7 in Depok City with the study programs offered at FISIP UNAIR and to provide them with insights into the daily life of FISIP UNAIR students. In addition to visiting FISIP UNAIR, the school also visited several faculties in various other universities.
The event began with the singing of the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” followed by the hymn of Airlangga University. The event was opened by a warm welcome speech from Prof. Bagong Suyatno, Drs., M.Si., the Dean of FISIP UNAIR. Prof. Bagong extended his greetings to all the students and teachers from SMA Negeri 7 in Depok City and provided an overview of the history of FISIP UNAIR. Before proceeding with the main event, FISIP UNAIR presented souvenirs to SMA Negeri 7 in Depok City as a token of appreciation.
Next, the presentation of the material was conducted by Probo Darono Yakti, S.Hub.Int., M.Hub.Int., a lecturer in International Relations and the coordinator of the FISIP UNAIR Dean’s Office staff. Probo explained FISIP UNAIR’s profile, including its facilities, study programs, career prospects, and alumni.
“As explained by Prof. Bagong, the education at FISIP UNAIR is intercultural. This means that the learning experience is not limited to one specific program, but students from different programs can learn from each other,” explained Probo.
Next, the students from SMA Negeri 7 Depok were allowed to participate in a question-and-answer session. The students showed great enthusiasm in following the presentation and engaging in the Q&A session.
