UNAIR Signs MoA for Collaboration with Kasetsart University Thailand

SURABAYA “ HUMAS | FISIP 51¶¯Âþ continues its international collaboration efforts. This time, Kasetsart University in Thailand becomes a partner of UNAIR in the endeavor to advance the quality of education in Indonesia. This collaboration also serves as a realization of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals. 

The collaboration officially commenced after the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between FISIP UNAIR and the Faculty of Social Sciences at Kasetsart University on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. The MoA was signed by the deans of both faculties. Representing Kasetsart University was the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Asst. Prof. Wing Commander Dr. Ngamlamai Piolueang. On the other hand, 51¶¯Âþ was represented by the Dean of FISIP, Prof. Dr. Bagong Suyanto Drs., M.Si,

Agastya Wardhana M. Hub. Int., the faculty ambassador of FISIP Unair, stated that this activity is part of FISIP’s initiative to establish a Center for Southeast Asian and African Studies at Unair. 

“FISIP aims to further collaborate with Kasetsart University Thailand,” said Agas. 

According to Agas, the MoA itself has been in the works for the past two months. After the signing of the MoA, both universities are expected to further establish their collaboration. “It’s still in the initiation stage. So, we are still exploring the options of what can be done,” explained the coordinator of FISIP Unair’s internationalization desk. If everything goes smoothly, the collaboration will involve student exchange, faculty exchange, joint conferences, research, and more. As a follow-up to the MoA signing, Unair will send its delegation to Kasetsart University. “The Dean hopes that this collaboration can provide direct benefits,” concluded Agas (IC/RSP).
