Surabaya “ Humas | On Tuesday (14/02/2023), FISIP UNAIR received a visit from MAN 2 Ponorogo as part of the Study Campus in Religious and Culture program at UNAIR. The visit took place at the Soetandyo Auditorium in FISIP UNAIR and was attended by 92 students and several teachers from MAN 2 Ponorogo. FISIP UNAIR was represented by Vice Dean III and two lecturers who provided an overview of FISIP UNAIR. The purpose of MAN 2 Ponorogo’s visit was to introduce FISIP UNAIR to the students, allowing them to gain knowledge about various study programs and learning opportunities available.
The visit began with a prayer and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” and the Airlangga University Hymn. Irfan Wahyudi, S.Sos., M.Comm., Ph.D., the Vice Dean III, delivered a welcome address to all the participants from MAN 2 Ponorogo who were present at FISIP UNAIR. The next part of the event consisted of a presentation session conducted by Probo Darono Yakti, S.Hub.Int., M.Hub.Int. (lecturer of International Relations), and Faisal Fahmi, S.Pd., M.Sc., Ph.D. (lecturer of Information Science and Library). Probo and Fahmi provided explanations about the profile of FISIP UNAIR, the available facilities, and an overview of each study program. The presentation session concluded with a question-and-answer session involving the participants.
Nastain, S.Pd., M.Pd.I, the Headmaster of MAN 2 Ponorogo, mentioned that the reason for choosing FISIP UNAIR as the visited faculty was to provide their students with an overview of the study programs in the field of Social Sciences. “We want to introduce our students to one of the renowned campuses in Indonesia, and we brought students from the Social Sciences and Religious Studies streams who theoretically could enter this faculty,” he said. At the end of the interview, Nastain expressed hope for continued cooperation and partnership between MAN 2 Ponorogo and FISIP UNAIR. “If possible, we would like to establish a partnership. We want our small district to receive direct guidance from a prestigious university, and our other hope is that more and more of our students will be accepted into FISIP,” he concluded.
