UNAIR NEWS“ Professor of Physiology from Faculty of Medicine 51¶¯Âþ Prof. Dr. Harjanto, JM, dr, AIFM passed away.
Prof. Harjanto left his body on Tuesday (7/11) at 14.25 WIB at Graha Amerta RSUD Dr. Soetomo and the funeral service will be conducted at Deltasari Cemetery on Wednesday (8/11) at 9.00 WIB.
Not only family, the heartbreaking feeling also with his mate physiology field, Choesnan Effendi, dr. AIFM. Choesnan stated that Faculty of Medicine UNAIR had missed the best Physiology experts ever.
During his career, Prof. Harjanto was trusted as Head of Faculty Advisory Board of Faculty of Medicine UNAIR and joined in Physiology Expertise Indonesia Association. In addition to be well-known as general physiology experts, Prof. Harjanto also focused on Sport Physiology.
For most students of master (S2) and doctoral (S3) program, Prof. Harjanto was known as one of the favorite promoters. “Because he was known for his diligence and patience, it is no wonder that many students of S2 and S3 programs always waited for long enthusiastically to ask him to be a promoter.”Choesnan recalled.
In the field of research, Prof. Harjanto concerned in exploring research about free radicals and antioxidants. From a number of his studies, it was concluded that the cause of the current damage or illness is based on the damage caused by free radicals that are too high, without being balanced by the presence of antioxidants.
